GALE IN ENGLAND.

LOSS OP LIFE.

London, November 13. A great gale is ragin'.- over the greater 'part of the United Kingdom. There was a phenomenal rainfall in Scotland, Ireland and Northern England, inundating the whole districts, especially in Yorkshire and Ulster, , where the railway traffic was dislocated, the water overflowing some of the trains and extinguishing the engine fire. There have been enormous wrecks, and ten lives were lost. The coastguards, in the teeth of the gale, decended the cliffs at South Foreland on a 300 ft rope ladder to assist a crew in danger.
