WAIKATO AMATEUR ATHLETIC AND CYCLING CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the above Club was held last evening, when the following programme was drawn up for the meeting on Boxing Day, viz 100 Yards Maiden,loo Yards(open),l2o Yards Hurdles, 250 Yards Bracelet, Quartermile, Half-Mile, One Mile, Tug of-War, Sack Race, Greasy Pig, Long Jump, Throwing the Cricket Ball. Place-kick-ing Football, Drop kick, and rac-rs for boys an 1 girls under 16 and 12 years each The total prize money will amount to £3O. It was decided to give trophies as was done by the Hamilton Athletic Club hist year. The committee will invite Mr G. W. Smith, the champion hurdler of the colony, to give an exhibition hurdle rare, and there is a likelihood of there being outside competitors. The posters with full particulars of the events, will he issued shortly.
