CAMBRIDGE ROAD BOARD.

Tin; monthly meeting of this Board was held in the Griteiion Hotel, Cambridge, on Saturday. The were present, Messrs VV. H. Thomas (in the chair), S. Cowling and M. Butler. Thh Valuation Department.— The Clerk read voluminous correspondence that had passed between himself and the Supervising Valuer at Auckland, re putting names on the rolls, and said he had at length succeeded in yetting Mr C. Lake’s name put upon the roll for the land he had been occupying many months, and so be had lulled him for the rates. | (INSURANCE. —It was resolved to insure the Board's employees with the Government for £2OO. Finance. —At date the Board’s account at the bank was in debit to the extent of £lO 4s 2d. Road Works.—On the motion of the chairman it was resolved to gravel the zigzag road from the ledge to the butter factory ; and the Victoria road -from the factory to the boundary of the districts. The work will be let in two contracts, tendeis for which will be returnable in a fortnight. —The surfaceman is to repair and put in order the road from Kite’s corner to Mr Escotd’s farm, (attention to which w'as called by Mr Butler) and after he has done that he will go to the road between Messrs Nornsh and Selby. In future the surfaceman is to bring up a report of what ho has done during the month, also of what works he doems necessary. \ Accounts —The following accounts were passed for payment ; Clerk, £6 5s ; Law costs, 16) 4d ; Souter and Co, £lO 14s 7d : Waikato Annus. £1 10s; T, Pennell, £26 17s ; J.
