WAITETUNA.
On Friday evening the ladies of Te Mata gave a dance in the Te Mata schoolroom, which proved an unqualified success, much to the credit of those who had the encouragement. The weather was fine, consequently there was a large number present from all parts of the district, who seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Good music was kindly supplied by Mr Cos&ey, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr R. Nicholson. Au abundance of excellent refreshments w*re dispensed at intervals, to which ample justice was done. Songs were given in the course of the evening and formed no unimportant part of the night’s amusement. Dancing was kept up bill about three in the morning. The Raglan Mounted Rifles will go into camp for a week’s training oh Monday, September 23rd, at Mr Foster’s, Okete. Lieut. Davis will be present to drill the men.
The Rev. E. M. Cowie, organising missionary, will visit the Raglan district this week and conduct services on Sunday : Raglan 8 a.m. (H.c.) aud 7 p.m. ; TeMata II a.m. (h.c.), and Waitetuna at 3 p.m.—(Own Correspondent).
