CAMBRIDGE AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB
Thi annual meeting of the members o the above Club was held at the Criteria! Hotel, Cambridge, on Saturday evening There was a lair attendance, Mr M Roberts being voted to the chair.
Tile Hon. Secretary, Mr E. J. Wilkinson, submitted a report and halanc sheet, and we have not the slightest hesitation in saying that the flourishing state of the Club is almost tolely due to the energy displayed by him. The report showed that as the result of the meeting held on the 28th of Novembei last, a liability of £l2 17s 7d had beet converted into a credit of £9 3s. The committee who canvassed for subscriptions, etc., had met with a ready response on all hands, for they collected no less than £ls in cash, and trophicto the value of £lO Regret was expressed that so few had jointed the club, and it was resolved to make a determined effort to augment the list of members by canvassing. The Secretary submitted an estimate of cost of running a meeting, based on the operations of lasi j year. He put the total cost at £33 10s,I which included prize money £2O. bane £2 2s, subscription to the New Zealand! A discussion took place as to the advisability of adding one or two profes sioual events to the programme to make the meeting more popular. The secretary was instructed to write to the Assocation to ascertain if such races could be introduced under its rules
A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the donors of the prizes (especially Mi Cornaga), the hon. secretary was also thanked very heartily for the great interest he had displayed in resuscitating the Club.
