The result of feiul between the Edunation Coard and Chief Inspector Lee’s, is that motion to retire him at the end of the year, has been carried by 4to 3. The Board had determined to haVe an enquiry (into Mr Lee’s statement which they alleged cast reflections on the Board, but they found the way was blocked as the evidence before the Teachers Commission is previliged. Later on a motion for his retirement, of which notice had been given at a previous meeting, came on with the result as above, although the Chairman made a strong appeal to the Board to pause before kicking a man out who had served them for 28 years.
