WAIPA UNION. KIHIKIHI V. TE AWAMUTU.

The return match between the Kihikihi and Te Awamutu representatives was played in the Kihikihi Domain on Saturday last, when the home team succeeded in winning back the muchcoveted O’Connor banner. The game was evenly contested, Kihikihi scoring six points, a try each obtained by E. Short and W. Baker against Te Awainutu’s three po nts, a try obtained by O’Keefe. Mr Mackayguve every satisfaction as referee. A goodly number,[of spectators were present, amongst whom were many ladies. ‘ Barracking ’ was the ordeiqof the day, much interest being taken by all. The return match between the junior teams of the same township also resulted in a victory for the Kihikihi cobs, who proved themselves too strong for the Te Awamutu boys, and scored .six points (two tries) to nil.
