MEETING OF MILK SUPPLIERS.
OHAUPO. Mr SpkagGi on Woducsday morning, addressed a meeting on the same lines as at Cumbiidge. Circulars were distributed showing the amount received at the Oluuipo creamery which averaged 0,158 gallons per week for eight mouths up to April, and the average- test wai !>G for the season, Mr Spragg remarking that thu testing was open to the fullest inspection, and that Ohaupo was entitled to the i onus o! Jd per lb of butter-fat. He also spoke of the difference in testing, and read an extract, on the subject. Mr Turney said he knew a man who took four tests from the same cow, and each of the results was cliff-Tent. Mr Spragg said if the samples were taken fairly a fair test would I e eiven. The 615 S gallons of milk gives -J .*->. 711' of butter fat, and if 'he suppliers increased it so as to make it ?SCOU> of butter-fat weekly tiny would be entitled to Sljd, including the bonus. ! Complaint was made of the creamery not running on Good Friday. Mr Sprang said that that matter would be rectified in the future; there would be no broken time. There wa* no irregularity iu the testing of the N.Z. Dairy Association ; all the in connection therewith bote the Government stamp. If there was any uufaii testing the managers were bigger fool? thau he took them to be. The suppliers can see the testing for themselves, and the weighing of the milk also. Re skim milk, Mr Spragg agreed to meet the wishes of the suppliers soas to enable the suppliers to control the output. Mr Gildroy asked Mr Spragg whether he would have made the present proposals if co-operation was not in the air. Mr Spragg said those proposals were arrived at three months ago. Mr Gildroy proposed ami Mr Turney seconded a vote of thanks to Mi Spra SS' r , . A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting. PATERANGI. On Tuesday Mr Spragg met about ten suppliers to the creamery, Mr Ryburn being in the the chair. Mr Spragg said they had had a satisfactory season, and informed the meeting that they were entitled to $d bonaon the past season's supply, which had been 4,608 gallons weekly ; this was equal to 1,7411bs ot butter-fat. Refer ring to his offer contained in the circular, he stated that if a little over thi quantity was supplied next season they would obtain Bjd per lb for their butterfat. Tho Chairman agreed with the meeting that tho offer was satisfactory, and details as to the opening of the creamery in August and other matters were discussed.
