A DEPUTATION from the Agricultural Association waited on the Department of Agriculture with reference to the export of swine, aod the importing of pedigree stock by the Government. With regard to to the export of pigs to the Islands Mr Ritchi" pointed out that striotions had been imposed by the Island authorities ou learning that swine fever was prevalent in the colony. He promised to notify tJ e authorities at Fiji and elsewhere or the improved state of affairs, and nv.de arrangements to have all pigs examined by the Government veterinary surgeons before beiug shipped from Auckland. If this was done he thought ltie Island authorities would again open their ports to New Zealand stock. With reference to the Government pedigree stock, Mr Ritchie stated chat the Government was negotiating for the purchase of a farm in this district, and if it was Required it was proposed to send uq some of the pedigree stock for the use of the Auckland settlers at a low fee.
