CAMBRIDGE DOMAIN BOARD.

The above Board met on Saturday at 2 p.m. There were present ;—Messrs T. Wells (chairman), R. and J. Fisher, W. F. Buckland and E. Hewitt. The Bowling Green.—The Secretary of the Cambridge Bowling Club wrote stating the expense of erecting the pavilion, purchasing a new mower and renovating the old lawn had been greater th;m was anticipated by £2 9s, the total expendituie being £52 9s. The Board had kiudly offered a subsidy of 10s in the £ on £SO, aud the Club now asked the Board to pay half of the extra £2 9s. The Secretary further asked the Board to contribute £2 10s, the half cost of erecting a flag-staff the Club had put up in ihe redoubt above the lawn.—The Board agreed to pay the half cost of the £2 9.5, but objected to have anything to do with the Hag-staff, and especially as tWrcost of erecting it was considered excessive.—Mr J. Fisher said he was very plcasod to attend the opening of the bowling green for the season, and was delighted to find that all kiuds aud condition of men were welcomed and took part in the game. That was as it should be, and he was gratified to think that the Board had contributed to bring that state of things about; and he felt sure it would continue to do as long as matters were carried on by the Club as well as they were at the present. Boats on thi; Lake.—Mr Hjorth wrote asking the Board to give him the right to put boats on the Lake, to be let for pleasure purposes.—The members were unanimously of opinion that if the request was granted the wild fowl would soon disappear, and they added much more to the attractiveness of the place than boats would do. Mallard. The Secretary reported that Mr J. Gallagher had presented the Board with a European wild duck and drake to be liberated on the Lake.—A vote of thanks was accorded Mr J. Gallagher for the present. Furze. Mr Fisher reported that many of the sections at Cambridge West required clearing.—The Secretary was instructed to send the lessees the necessary notices. Accounts. Accounts amounting to about £BO were passed for payment, and the Chairman was authorised to discharge all the liabilities of the Board bofore the close of the year. Annual Meeting.— The annual meet ing of the Board will be held on Monday, the 7th of January next.
