FEDERAL ELECTIONS.
OPENING OF THE CAMPAIGN. [united press association], (hy electric telegrap.—coyrigut.) (Received Decsmber 11, 1.8 a.m.) Sydney, December 10. THE Free Trade Party opened the federal campaign by a big demonstration in the Town Hall. Speeches were made by Messrs Eeid, McMillan and other leaders. The meeting adopted a series of resolutions in favour of a free trade federal tariff, framed for the purposes of revenue only.
