(by ThXEOiuru—rnrcw association.) WET.MNfiT-otT, Last Night. Sir Alfred Milnur reports the death at Pretoria, on September 7th, from enteric fever, of Trooper C. E. Smith, No. 1 Company, Third Contingent. He came from Clarence Bridge, and his father resides at, Timarn. The Premier is in receipt of a communication from Lord Roberts, acknowledging the receipt of tiie congratulatory resolution upon the suoctss of British arms in South Africa, passed at a public meeting of Irishmen at Coro'maudel. Lord Roberts expresses his appreciation of the meeting's congratulations. Mr Seddon sent the reply totheßev. DrEgan, who was Chairman of the meeting.
