(BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION). Auckland, Saturday.
Auckland’s section of one hundred men for the fifth contingent is now complete. One hundred and eighty two men passed the medical tests, and a selection was made from these. Daily drilling is going on, but only a few horses are yet in camp. Wellington, Saturday. The departure of the North Island poriou of the 4th contingent begins today. The horses will be sent south by steamer as opportunity offers. All the men leave on the 17th. The Premier hopes to get the sth contingent away immediately after. The camp for the sth contingent opened this morning, 250 men going under canvas. Lieut. Colonel Sommerville is in command.
