EDISON KINEMATOGRAPH COMPANY.
The grand patriotic scenic concert, given by the Edison Kinematograph Company, in the Volunteer Hall, Hamilton, last night, was a great success and secured the bumper house which its merits deserved. Thrilling pictures of real warfare were shown by the Myriorama while the Kinematograph reproduced true to life pictures incidental and leading up to the war. Among the various pictures were those of Her Majesty, the Prince of Wales, Mr J. Chamberlain, Lords (Salisbury, President Kruger, Lords Wolseley, Kitchener, and Methuen, Generals White, Duller, Wauchope and others, Col. Dick Cunyngham, General Joubert and representatives of various British regiments and seamen and Boer commandoes. The Colonies were not forgotten, and some splendid pictures of the various contingents were thrown on the canvas. A beautiful series of views, entitled “ A Memorial Service,” and depicting the loss of our brave New Zealanders, Troopers Bradford, Connell and Gourley were given, and brought the stern reality of war closer to all those present. During the evening a number of appropriate selections were given on the Colossophoue and tire Phonograph. The former, which is the first exhibited in the colonies, gives the reproductions louder and truer than its predecessor, the Phonograph, and among the beat items were “ A fjpldier and a Man,” given while the picture of the late Col. Dick Cunyngham was shown, and “Break the News to Mother,” during the memorial service. The entertainment was on all sides pronounced a firstclass one, and when the Company return as they have promised to with further pictures of the war, they may be sure of a good house in Hamilton,
