NARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWNING.

(jiY TELEGRAPH—TRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, Last Night. Mr Dawson, seed merchant, of Auckland, had a narrow escape from drowning on the Waitakerie West Coast. A breaker swept him off the rock on the beach on which he was sitting, and carried him by the backwash to and fro betweeuthe rocky islet and the mainland. Some young men who were fishing had exhorted him to leave, and he being swept towards mainland they succeeded after three attempts in throwing a fishing line to him and rescuing him.
