Babbit Day.--On Wednesday last, the usual rabbit, skin pay day, a very large number of natives ome into the township, and there were again over fifty thousand skins accounted for. Inspector Ross and his assistants were hard at work counting and piying from early morning till dark. Tennis Club.—The newly • formed Kihikihi Tennis Club had their opening day on Thursday afternoon, and there was a splendid turn out of members and friends. Mr Perry's paddock, where he has kindly allowed the club to make their ground, looked very bright ami animated, the two courts being fully occupied until dusk ; rounders aud other games were also in full swing. The committee of ladies and gentlemen, with Miss Mainwariug as their secretary, were very active. Afternoon tea and refreshments were provided, and daucing was afterwards indulged in at the Town Hall for several hours. The club has a large membership, including some good players, and there is every prospect of a prosperous season and matches being arranged shortly. —(Own Correspondent).
