Mr Herries will address the electors of the Bay of Plenty at Tirau this evening. The Rev. J. Millar Thomson, M.A., is announced to preach at Trinity Chuich, Cambridge, to-morrow. The programme for the Otorohanga race meeting, to be held on the 23rd December, is published iu another to! umn. A meeting of the Ohaupo branch of the Waikato Farmer' Club will bo held on Tuesday next, 2lst inst., at the usual rime and place. Athletes are reminded that entries for the Cambridge West Amateur Athletic Club's meeting, to be held on the 29th inst., close this evening. Coral Queen guano (50 per cent, phosphate of lime) is quoted by Messrs Kempthorne' Pro3ser and Co. in their latest price list at £4 5s per ton. An Auckland telegram last night states that the Union Company's steamer Maoapouri, which left for the Islands broke down on the Coast, and a Northern Company's steamer has gone to bring her into harbour. The many friends of Mr William Ede, of Woodlands, will regret to hear of his death, which occurred at Puriri, Grafton Road. For some time past Mr Efte has been in failing health and he was recently a patient in the Waikato Hospital for a week or so, but his dea-Ji must have been most unexpected by his friends. For many years Mr K>le was employed on the Woodlands Estate, and he was well liked and respected by all who knew him: Deceased leaves a widow and one daughter (Mrs James Parker), to whom we offer our deepest sympathy iu their bereavement. The funeral will leave Hukanui for the Hamilton Ea6t cemetery at 11,30 a.m. to morrow.
