BOER INTENTIONS.
Durban, November 14. Colonel Sehiel, who had charge of the Boor artillery and was laken prisoner, admits that the Boers iutended to capture Pietermaritzburg and dictate terms. This is now hopeless. The Gordon Highlanders fought so grandly at Elands Laagte that he says ho feels disposed to salute whenever he sees their uniform. WAR FUND. London, November 14. At the opening of Mr Charles Wyndham's new theatre on Thursday, the proceeds will be devoted to the families of the soldiers killed in the Transvaal. The seats were auctioned by members of the Stock Exchange. Mr Frank Gardener, well-known in Australian ruining circles, capped the bids with £IOO for a box, wbioli he afterwards presented to Mr Wyndham.
