LARRIKINISM.
Our Ohaupo Correspondent writes :—1 legret to say some in inly conduct took place r.fter Dr. IJosking's meeting was over on Monday night. As your own and Dr. Hoskiug were walking towards the hotel, sojue ycung 1-ids galloped past clo?e. to the doctor, saying, " good night doctor," at the fame time, tin owing papers of flour over his face and shoulders. Two packages hit him, one en the shoulder and one in the face, some of the II iur entering his eyes. At first it was thought from the pain that pepper had been mixed with the 11 ur ; but such is not the case, as I happened to taste ir., having had a good sprinkle myself. It certainly was a direct insult and is very much deploied by the supporters of both patties. lam glad fc-i si.y it was not the act (if a rtsident of Ohaupo ; but, as far as I can hear, of some though - less young men from one t.f the out districts. It is the first time a candidate for parliamentary honours has been insulted in the Waikato and I hope it will be the last. The Ohaupo people feel sore over it, as it happeeid in their township.
