PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, CAMBRIDGE.

© Ok Wednesday evening the congregation of Trinity Church, Cambridge, assembled at the summons of the Kirk Session to consider the present position of the charge in regard to the vacancy in the pastorate. Under authority of the interim moderator, the Rev. W. Evan.s, who was unavoidably absent, Elder John Fisher presided. After the usual opening exercises the Chairman briefly reviewed the steps which had been taken by the supply committee to fill the vacancy, and explained thjit. the Rev. J no. Erwin, M.A., who had recently preached before the congregation, was at present the only candidate on the list. Several members strongly advocated an early settlement of a minister in the best interests of the charge, and it was unanimously agreed by the meeting that the time had come when the Preslytery should be requested to appoint a date for moderating in a call. Further discussion ensued, during which several members spoke very favourably of the impression made by Mr Erwin's visit, aid it was decided by unanimous vote of the Members and adherents present that the call should be addressed to that gentleman. The meeting was a fairly good representative one, aud from the unanimity and interest which characterised the proceedings it may fairly be assumed that the expressions voiced the mind of tho majority of the congregation.

The meeting was concluded by the usifal devotional exercises.
