MASSACRE IN AFRICA.
[united press association.] (BY ELEOTBIC TELEGRAPH—GOPYBIGHT). Paris, September 12. NEWS has been received that an immense body of Tuaregs annihilated a French expedition, under M. Foarneau, the well-known African explorer, and Colonel Lamy, who had charge of the protecting military column. Besides Fourneau, three civilians, M. Dorian, Deputy for the Loire ; M. Vilatti, of the meteorological service; and M. Leßoy, a tourist, accompanied the party. The expedition was making its way from Algeria to Lake Tchad, and had reached the vicinity of Tounair, when the massacre occurred. Terrible losses were inflicted on the Tuaregs.
