MAHANGA BAY FATALITY.

The inquest as to the cause of death of the victims has closed. The following is the verdict :—" We are of opinion that deceased met their deaths purely by accidental circumstances, caused by the explosion of gun-cotton, during the performance of duty, and that there is not sufficient evidence to show how the guncotton ignited ; we are of opinion that Captain Falconer is blameless in the matter, he having carried out the work according to the rules and regulation of the service."

The Coroner said he was very pleased to find the jury had exonerated Captain Faboner.
