Mu Haynes moved an amendment to the Federal Address, setting forth that the vote against the Bill was not against Federation, but against the adoption of any constitution which could not be amended by a majority of the Australian people. Mr Barton’s amendment was negatived, and the debate on the address to the Queen, praying Parliament to pass the Federal Enabling Bill, was adjourned. Hobart, August 3. The Premier anticipates that the Federal Parliament will meet in July next. Adelaide, August 3. Mr Kingston, the Premier, submitted the Federal Address to the Queen, which passed the Assembly unanimously, the members singing “ God Save the Queen.” One member predicted that New Zealand would join the Union.
