KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Kirikiriroa Road Board was held at the Council Chambers, Hamilton East, yesterday afternoon. There were present : Messrs John Gordon (Chairman), John Primrose, T. Paterson, M. G. Farrer and F. R. Scddon.
Freshfikld Gravel - pit. Messrs Hesketh and Richmond wrote with reference to the transfer of the Freshfield gravel-pit. They stated that the transfer had been made some years ago, but as it had never been registered it was null and void. Since then the owner (Mr Grey) had died, and the land had been placed in the hands of Messrs E. B. Cox and Helmore us executors. The transfer would therefore have to be made over again and a fine paid in addition.— The Clerk stated that he had forwarded this letter to the Chairman, as it was a somewhat important matter, and the Chairman had instructed Messrs Hesketh and Richmond to have the transfer effected with as little delay and expense as possible.—The action of the Chairman was endorsed by the Board. Tramway Road. Mr T. Gaud in agfciu w te calling the attcntiou of the Board to the state of the road leading to Silverdale farm, and asking to have some gravelling repairs done.—This matter was under consideration by the Board some months ago. when Mr Gaudin was iuformed that the Foremau of VVorks would attend to the matter when he was in that district,—The Board decided to leave the mutter in the hands 6i the Foremau,
Foreman's Report. The Foreman submitted his usual report enumerating the various works carried out in the district since last meeting.—The report was adopted. Defective ArrROACH.— On the recommendation of Mr Paterson, the Board decided to have the approaches to the bridges near Mr A. Nicol's farm, at Komokorau, repaired, and also have the debris removed from the bridge. Finance.—The Clerk reported that the credit balance of the Board amounted to £223 12s 9d ; the subsidy due amounted to £3O ; outstanding rates, £1 17s; total, £255 10s 3d ; less accounts to date, £4B 2s 6d ; leaving an available balance of, £207 7s 9d. Finger Posts.—Mr Primrose called attention to a number of finger posts in the district which required relettoring. The Board agreed to have the necessary repairs affected. Accounts —The following accounts were passed for payment:—Waikato Argus, £2 5s ; law costs. £1 3s ; collector (commission), £3 19s lOd ; R. Waite, £l2 10a ; Davys Bros., £8 Gs 8d : Jas. Gorman, £1 ; W. Honeybun, £7 131 ; J. Franklin, £ll ss. Total, £46 18i Gd.
