TE AWAMUTU.

Library.—The Rev. W. H. Wilson our late vicar has kindly consented to give a lecture in aid of the library funds on Monday eveumg next. The subject will be the " War in Samoa. The Rev. gentleman having been Brisish Consul at Samoa will describe the war incidents etc., from a personal knowledge of the "hole country and its people. The subject should undoubtedly attract a large audience considering the late disturbance in the islands. The lecture will be illustrated with splendid new lantern, views from photographs of the Samoan war some thrillingand sensational pictures, natives battle scenes etc., there will be a small charge of sixpence for admission. The management is in the hands of Mr Vause so something good may be expected as usual. Concert. —A grand concert in aid of the organ fund, will take place in the Town Hall on Weduesday next. Songs etc. will be given by Mesdames, Ahier, Andrew, Gifford, Rountree and Seccombe, aud the llev. Latter, Messrs S. Armstrong, Bathurst, Fell and Rountree. The usual dance will follow. Appointment.—Mr Rountree has been appointed assistant secretary of the local Liberal League.
