Great preparations are being mad by the Maoris of this district in anticipation of the visit of King Mahuta, whom it is stated inteuds paying a State visit by way of New Plymouth to Patea, for the purpose of officially opening some larg* building there. He evidently intends not to be outdone by " King Richard " in this respect.
