KIHIKIHI.
Sickness.—l regret to say that Mr Thomas Anderson, aenr , of this place, who has been ailing for about a week with a bad chest complaint, now lies in a very critical state, very serious Bymptoms having deve'oped during the last two days. Mr Thomas Porter, who is still laid up, is, I fear, making very little, if any, progress towards recovery.—[Since the above was in type we have received a telegram conveying the sad intelligence that Mr Anderson had passed away at noon yesterday. Mr Anderson, who was a very old settler, has been identified with Kihikihi since the early days. The funeral will leave his late residence to morrow (Wednesday), at 4 p.m.]
Land Court.—The Land Court which is sitting here is making good progress, and a fairly large number of natives is HviDg in and around the town to enable them to attend the court. Some cases that had been gazetted to be heard here on June 14th are, 1 understand, to be removed to Cambridge, so that the term of the court's sitting here will be shortened.
