THE DAIRY INDUSTRY.
. WHATAWHATA. On Thursday afternoon Mr Spragg arrived in the townßhip for the purpose of meeting the local milk suppliers, but owing to the absence of a proper notification through the Press, very few were aware of his coming, and the meeting has been adjourned for a week or two, when Mr Spragg will again visit the district. During the evening, however, a few of the suppliers rolled up and had a friendly chat with Mr Spragg on dairyiog matters, in the course of which they were informed that as the result of the bonus given by the Dairy Association, the Whatawhata suppliers would receive l-16th of a penny per gallon extra upon all milk sent in during the season now closing. There seems little doubt that the improved prices now being offered by the Dairy Association will be accepted in this district, and should these have the appearance of being permanent it will lead to a rapid increase in the quantities of milk sent in.
