(BY TELKGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Danevjrkb, Last Night. The Premier addressed a meeting here on Saturday night. The speech was on the same lines as his Eketahuna speech. He said he would brim? in a Bill next sassion to have the question of rating on unimproved values decided by a majority of votes recorded. Local bodies should have extended powers with annual revenues for roads and bridges. Many aliens were deserving settlers and should have pensions. Some have been in the colony for 40 years. A vote of thanks and confidence and approval of the land policy of the Government was carried without dissent.
