FOOTBALL.

PATERANGI CLUB. The annual meeting of the Paterangi Football Club was held in the hall on Monday evening. Mr F. C. Gerniann (President) was in the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. The Secretary (Mr C. S. Mocky) read the report and financial statement of the club for the season, which showed that the club won two Union matches, drew one, and lost three, besides winning two non-union matches. The number of points scored ty the Club was much in excess of the number scored against. The balance-sheet showed 14s 6d to the credit.—On the motion of the captain these were adopted. The next business was the election of officers, as follows : —President : Mr F. C. Gerniann. Vice-Presidents : Messrs J. H. Scott, S. Reid, Capt. Aubin, W. G. Macky, W. Rae, M. Laurie, Geo. Berry, Rev. W. Smith, V. Marshall and R. Hall. Captain : Mr J. J. Ryburn. Vice-captain : Mr C. S. Macky. Delegates to the Waipa Union : Messrs Ryburn aud Macky. Secretary and Treasurer: WrC. S. Macky. Management Committee : The Captain, Secretary, Geo. Allcock, C. Sing and W. Scott. Selection Committee : The Captain, Secretary, and Geo. Allcock. The annual subscription was fixed at 2s 6d.

The first practice is to held on Saturday, April 22nd. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the energetic Secretary, Mr Macky, and also to Mr Germann for the aae of his paddock. The question of duly qualified umpires for Union matches was considered, but it was decided to let the Union deal with this subject. CAMBKIDQE CLUB. The annual meeting of the members of the above club was held at the Criterion Hotel, Cambridge, on Saturday at 8 pm. There was an attendance of about thirty, Mr M. Koberts being voted to the chair. The balance-sheet showed a oredit of £3 Is 9d. The leceiptß were subscriptions, £2 17s 6d ; taken at the gate, £8 18s ; aud the expenditure £8 13s 9d. The Chairman announced that Mr J. Oldfidd had presented the Club with a firHt class match ball, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the donor. The Chairman also announced that the Club had permisaiou to use Victoria Square, but the lines would have to be marked out in white with a tennis marker.

The subscription was fixed at 3s, af'er which the following officers were elected : Presidents; Mr Ribt. Fisher. Vice Presidents : Messrs \Y. F. Buckland, N. I. Hunt and H, Kerr. Secretary, Mr M. Roberts. Captain, Mr W. McPike : Vice-Captain, Mr G. Armer. Committee : Messrs N. Carnachan, W. McVeagh, J. Stewart. J. Bailey and G. Armer. Selection Committee : Messrs Roberts, McPike and McVeagh. It was resolved to join the Waikato Union, and Messrs Roberts aud Carnachan \ve;e appointed delegates to atteud the meeting*. The colours will be the same as last year, and the first practice will be held on Victoria Square on Wednesday the 26th inst.

On Saturday evening a meeting was held iu the Hamilton Hotel, to consider whether it was desirable to form a junior Football Club in Hamilton, or whether the juniors should throw in their lot with the Hamilton Club. Mr George Edgecuu.be occupied the chair. After some discussion, it was decided to join the Hamilton Club, and over twenty gave in their names as members.

The Hamilton Football Club held their first practice on Sydney Square on Saturday last. Between 20 and 30 players took part in the game, the number including about half-a-dozen new men, some of whom shaped exceedingly well. Judging by appearances, the local team will put a strong fifteen in the field ; in fact, it is not improbable that two first teams will be entered for the competition.
