A married woman named Alice Jep--Bon drowned hor seven-year-old son in a lagoon at Fisherman Bend by holding him face downwards in six inches of water. She then attempted to drown herself. The woman has been ill for some time. She told the police that her neighbours seemed unkind. Her husband had left her to go to work, and being miserable she had decided to drown her boy and herself.
