The Hauioto from Samoa brings t lie intelligence that Aph was shelled by H.M.S. Porpoise ami Royalist and the United Stated ship Philadelphia. The last named fiied the first shot. The Royalist in patrolling Apia had an encounter with the natives and lost two men, and had ten wounded. The Porpoise went along the coast shelling places, and the Philadelphia shelled off Vainsu. The Germans took no action, the German Consul-General stating that he still recognised the Provisional Government.
