The firemen displayed great gallantry in rescuing people, and in other ways. During the progress of the fire many guests displayed great heroism and self-sacrifice. A lady teaching dancing on the second floor, coolly marched all the children downstairs. There were 212 guests and 350 employees in the building when the fire broke out. The police theory is that the fire was caused by thieves, two outbreaks having occurred. (Received March 22, 5 p.m.). New York, March 21.
