WAIKATO WEST INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.
Refkrm.vg to the letter of "Fair Play," which appeared in our issue of last Saturday, the Secretary of the Waikato West Industrial Exhibition requests us to refer the writer to section V. as clearly set out in the printed schedules of the exhibition, which at once satisfactorily disposes of" Fair Play's " objection to "certificates" only being given to successful competitors at the exhibition. In the face of the regulation referred to there is no room for any " misunderstanding " over the matter, either on the part of exhibitors or the public. The regulation reads : First and second certificates will be awarded in each class, if the exhibits be of sufficient merit. Any suitable competitive exhibit, other than those enumerated in the schedule, will be received aud awarded a certificate if deserving. Cash or other prizes than certificates will only be awarded where specially donated for any particular section or class, and so directed by the donor. The Executive Committee will be pleased to receive any such special prizes or donations for such purpose. [We can insert no more correspondence on this subject.—Ed. W.A.f
