TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS.
♦ TO TIIK EDITOR. Sir, Considerable inconvenience is likely to be experienced this Christmas by tinny who are engaged in Auckland, but who are desirous of having a trip into the country at this season, owing Ufe lack of arrangements made by the Department. A few years ago the 4.15 train to Mercer was run through to "Waikato, but latterly this has been replaced by a special excursion on Cnristmas Day. This year, however, owiDg to Christmas Djy being Sunday, no excursion will be run, and, unless able to get away by the 9.30 oa Saturday morning none will be able to visit friends in the Waikato. I think, if a train were put on from Auckland, leaving at, say, 4.30 or 5 p.m., tint it would be well patrouised, and I hope it is not too late for the Department to take some steps in the matter.—l am, &e., Interested.
