CRICKET.
♦ TUniKARAMEA V. OIIAUPO. A match was played on Saturday last in Mr Edwards' paddock at Ohaupo between Tuhikaramea and Ohaupo. Tuhikaramea played one short and won by an innings and 31 runs. The day was fine, and there was a large number of spectators. As usual, the Misses Edwards, assisted by other younp ladies, provided afternoon tea for the players, which no doubt they look upon as a labour of love, for it is no joke to prepare food for twenty or thirty hungry fellows. Total, 82. TARARTJ V, WAIPA. The following players have been chosen to represent Waipa in the about match, to be played at Te Awainutu on Saturday, 31st inst.:—S. Reid, N. Reid, R. Livingstone, Blackett, Case, McGhie, G. Bowden, F. Bowden, C. Bowden, Browning, Coggins. Emergencies— Singleton, Aubin, Stevens, Park. If any of the above players arc unable to play they are requested to send word to Mr C. Bowden as early as possible. A practice match will take place at Ohaupo on Saturday next; the rep. team will play 15 all-comers, the game to commence at 12 o'clock sharp. All the players chosen that possibly can arc requested to attend; also, as many members of the associated clubs, in order that a good practice may be indulged in. waipa cricket association. On Saturday evening a meeting ol delegates of the Waipa Cricket Association was held in Mr Teddy's Hotel, at wb'ch eight attended. Mr R, Hampton in the chair. It was decided to present the Te Awamutu team wi:th the sum of two guineas, to purchase tjophies, won last season. Re the reception and providing for the Tararu team', Messrs Colhoun and C. Bowden were appointed a con;mittee to make all necessary arrangements.—On the day of th<j match it was decided to mako a small charge of 6d at the gate. A copy of the Auckland rules were read, and those applicable to the country were adopted. Mr C. Bowden was appointed to pick the " Rep " team (irrespective of clubs) to play the match. Re fixtures for the next round, it was decided to postpone the consideration ot this matter till harvest operations were over. The usual vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the meeting.
