(BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Last iSiglit. A bond for the security to bring back Joseph Myers was signed this morning. The Agent-General cables :—"Cheese : 46s ; prospects encouraging. Australian butter : 110 s ; market very uncertain, fear price will go down." Westport, Last Night, The premises of Mr C. Smith, draper, at Dcnniston, were entered yesterday. The safe was taken away and toppled over an incline. An endeavour had apparently been made to open it with a crowbar, but was abandoned. The safe was recovered with its contents, representing two weeks' takings, intact. A young man, named McGlone, employed in the Post Office at Deuniston, was drowned whilst bathing. Christchoech, Last Night. At the Police Court this morning a young man, named J. A. Chapman, a letter carrier, was charged with stealing a post office letter and two boxes of tobacco, the property of the PostmasterGeneral. He was remainded till Friday.
