[united prhss association.] (by electric telegraph.—copyright), SMALL-POX AT NEWCASTLE. Newcastle, December 1. The steamer Orpheus has arrived from Delagoa Bay, Africa, with a case of small-pox on board, and has been quarantined. The patient is convalescent.
(Received December 2, 9.30 a.m ) A CAREFULLY - PLANNED ROBBERY. Perth, December 2. The Paymaster-General of the Poatoffice drew £IOOO to pay officers' salaries, and paid away £3OO. He then locked up the balance in a room and went to lunch. On his return the money was missing. The robbery was evidently carefully planned.
COURT-MARTIAL. Sydney, December 2. In connection with the recent grounding of the warship Mildura at the New Hebrides, Captain Leah, commander, was charged with hazarding the ship, and Lieutenant Oldham, the navigating office 1 : at the time of the accident, with stranding her by default or negligence. The court reprimanded Captain Leah and acquitted Lieutenant Oldham.
GERMAN WARSHIP. Sydney, December 2. The German warship Bussard has arrived from Samoa.
