THE GOVERNOR'S VISIT TO HAMILTON.

All arrangements for the reception of His Excellency the Governor and Lady Ranfurly ou the occasion of their visit to Hamilton on Friday next have now been completed, and the programme for the day will be as follows : His Excellency and suite will arrive at Hamilton West by special train at 1.20 p.m. He will bo met at the station by the Mayor and Councillors, and the Waikato Mounted Rifies will provide a guard of honour. The Town Clerk will read an address, and the Mayor's daughter (Miss Dey) will present Lady Ranfurly with a bouquet. The party will then be driven to the Commercial Hotel, where they will stay during their visit, and at 2 o'clock His Excellency will be entertained at I tin cheon by the Mayor. Some 40 invitations have been issued by His Worship, who will occupy the chair, and MrF. W. Lang, M.H.R. for Waikato, will occupy the vice-chair. The toasts will be limited to the following, proposed by the Mayor, viz : " The Queen," " The Prince of Wales and the Royal Family," and "His Excellency the Governor." The members of the Waikato Mounted Rifles and the Hamilton Brass Band will be entertained at luncheon at the Royal Hotel at 2 o'clock.

At 3 p.m. Lord Ranfurly will lay the foundation stone of the Public Library, and the Hamilton 'Brass Band and school children, as well, it is hoped, as large numbers of the public, will attend to give eclat to the proceedings. After the ceremony the vice-Regal party will be taken by the Mayor for a drive into the Tamahere district, returning to the Commercial Hotel for dinner.

In the evening Lord and Lady Ranfurly will attend the performance of " Dandy Dick," which the Hamilton Comedy Company has kindly consented at the request of the Receptiou Committee toplay. Thefundswillbe devoted towards the improvement of Sydney Square, ani the members of the company and of the Waikato Amateur Athletic Club, who are taking an active interest in the matter, are doing their utmost to make ihe evening's amusement one worthy o c the town. Those who have seen the performance of the comedy previously know that nothing will be wanting on the part of the players, and it is hoped a bumper house will be accorded. The reserved seats will on this occasion be limited, as a certain amount of space will be used for the vice-Regal party, so that those who intend going should see to it and reserve their seats at once. It is requested that all who take reserved scats will wear evening dress.
