SUICIDE OF A BOY.
On Saturday a boy named Hamilton Scott, aged 16, jumped from the Cemetery Bridge, Auckland, aud died from his injuries shortly afterwards. At the inquest, which was held yesterday, the following facts were elicited:—Two letters were produced, addressed to deceased's sister and the other to his cousin, dated 11th November, aud ran as follows : " Just a lino to say goodbye. I said all I had to say iu my last letter. Ever your loving, broken - hearted, missrable Arthur." One to his cousin contained : " Just a line to wish you guod-bye ; break it gently to mother. I couldn't help it. Ever your loving Arthur." " Arthur " was his " nick-name." The " last letter " referred to had been destroyed by his female cousin, who received it a month ago. The evidence showed that the deceased was in a good position at Home, and did not like his prospects iu life now, and was averse to exertion, except at cricket. The jury returned a verdict of felo de sc.
