MAGISTRATE'S COURT, CAMBRIDGE.
Yesterday. (Before Captain Jackson,
8.M.) Riding a Bictcle on the Footpath.— Fredk. Amber was charged with riding a bicycle along the footpath of Queenstreet on the '2oth inst. He pleaded guilty, and said he seldom rode a bicycle, did not own one, and committed the deed thoughtlessly.—The Town Clerk said the information had been laid by order of the Borousjh Council, but did not wish to press the charge, it being brought as a caution to others.—The Magistrate said iic should only inflict a fine of 2s Gd and costs 7s, but if any others were brought up he should deal severely with them. Breach of the Education Act.— Robert Stewart and David Stewart were charged with not sending their children regularly to school. Both pleaded guilty. David was fined 2s only, and Robert was fined 2s and 7s costs.
Maintenance. Daniel Dillon, of Waitekauri, was ordered to contribute os per week towards the support of his mother, living at Cambridge West.
