CRICKET.
TUHIKARAMEA V. TE AWAMUTU. This match was played at Tuhikammea on Saturday last, and resulted in a win for Te Awamutu by 29 tuns. Tuhikaramea headed Te Awumutu in the first innings by 15 runs, Stewart Reid playing a good innings for 26 runs. The. game was, during the latter part of Tuhikaramea'a innings, greatly interfered with by rain, which continued with short breaks till the conclusion of the match. On resuming Te Awamutu made a most disastrous start, five wickets being down for eight runs, and it looked like a win for Tuhikaramea by an innings. However, the glorious uncertainties of cricket came to the fore, and on G. Bowden's appearance at the wickets another face was put on the game, no less than 55 runs being added before he and his brother, C. Bowden. were separated, the innings closing for 79 runs, leaving Tuhikaramea 64 runs to tie. This they failed to do, only reaching 35. G. Bowden played the innings of the day, never giving a single chance for his 35 runs. The bowling and fielding of both teams was good. The following are the scores : Te Awamutu First innings : C.
