THE KARAPIRO ESTATE.
Messrs Gkehakd Mtjixek (Commissioner of Crown Lands), James Renshaw and David Lundon (Members of the Land Board), visited Cambridge on Tuesday to arrange for and conduct the ballot for the Beleotion of the lands of the Karapiro Estate, which by the Government on the lease in perpetuity system. The following were the successful selectors:—Block 9:—No. 1: 51J acres, 5 selectors, James Clements; No, 2: 40i acres, no application ; No. 3 : 37A acres, no application ; No. 4: 31$ acres, no application ; No. 7 : 38 acres, 3 selectors, J. H. Mahood, ; No. 9 : 122 acres, 2 selectors, R. J. Dooley ; No. 10: 112 acres, Thos. Martin (Taranaki); Block 10:—No. 1: 108 acres, Giles Keeley; No. 2 : 89 acres. Mrs G. Keeley ; No, 3: 110 acres, 2 selectors, W. G. Morgan; No. 6 : 164 acres, 2 selectors, G. J. Neal; No. 7: 101 aores, 2 selectors, G. Price (Waitekauri); Ne. 8 : ,42 acres. 3 selectors, W. Hickey ; No. 9; 350 acres, 2 selectors, Mrs M. Ferguson; No. 11: 260 aores and homestead, Joseph Wallis Mahura West, Fielding). It is very pro bable that sections 2 and 3 of block 9 will be taken up by the) adjoining owners, but 4 of the same block is covered with pinus insignia and will be useless for years. Every one was convinced of the fairness of the method of conducting the ballot, and the thanks of the selectors is due to the Land Board for having the ballot at Cambridge. ,
