SUICIDES AND FATALITIES.
(BY TELEGRAPH--PRESS ASSOCIATION). Blenheim, Last Night. John Mapp, a farmer, fell off his horse in Walter-straet on Saturday night and fractured his skull. He died before reaching the hospital. Napier, Last Night. Russell Beechem, a well-known commission agent, was found dead in his office this morning with his throat cut from ear to ear. He was last seen yesterday morning, when he complained of not feeling well. Masterton, Last Night. William Whitt, Manager of the Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association Furnishing Department, broke a blood vessel on Saturday evening, while selling a piano, and died in less than five minutes. Christchurch, List Night. James Thompson, aged 35, suicided in a house in Barbadoes-streat, yesterday, by shooting himself through the body with a Martini-Henri rifle. He had been in low spirits, because he had been told that some of the hands in the establishment, where he was employed, were to be dismissed. He had made arrangements to be married on Thursday, but •n Saturday night he told his fiancee he could not do so owiug to money matters.
