WAINGARO.
• * Bridge Fund.—A meeting of contributors to the Ngaruawahia bridge fund was held on Saturday at the Waingaro Hot Springs Hotel. Mr C. P. Vining was voted to the chair.—The balancesheet was read and adopted.—Mr McDonald, hon. sec, gave a report of the steps taken to secure the erection of the bridge, now uearing completion, and was accorded a vote of thanks for his successful efforts.—The balance in hand was agreed to be divided pro rata among the subscribers, there being no further use for the fund. Postal Matters.—The postal arrangements were then discussed, and it was thought the growing wants of the district required the establishment of a biweekly mail, instead of a weekly one, as at present, and that application be made for the same. Thirds.—lt was agreed that the member for the riding in the council should write to the chairman, ebjecting to the sum of £27 3a 6d, interest on thirds, being transferred to the general account, informing him that, unless the matter was righted, an appeal would be made to tho Commissioner of Crown Lands and the Auditor-General. Waingako - Ngakcawahia Road.— Attention was drawn to the small sum, £BS, placed upon the Estimates for expenditure on the Waingaro-Ngaruawahia road, and it was resolved to ask the member for Waikato to get a further sum placed upon tho Supplementary Estimates lor expenditure thereon. Polo.—A meeting of the two local Polo Clubs was held, and it was decided to alter the name of the junior club to f * Rata," bo that no confusion of names might occur, and enable it to join the Polo Union, in order that matches may be played with other clubs belonging to the Union.
