THE RAILWAY ROUTE.

(BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION). New Plymouth, Tuesday. A well-attended meeting was held tonight to consider the question of the North Island Trunk railway, and the Stratford route particularly. The meeting was addressed by Mr Shera and the other delegates from the Auckland - Taranaki Railway League. A resolution was passed urging the pushing on of the North Island Trunk Railway, and asking the placing on the estimates of a sum for commencing construction of the line from Stratford. The resolution was carried unanimously.
