HAMILTON TRAFFIC BRIDGE.
It will be remembered that aome time ago Mr C. W. Hursthouse, Government Engineer, was sent, at the request of the Council, to inspect the Hamilton Traffic Bridge. As no report had been received from him concerning the .same the Mayor wired asking if he had sent in his report, and Mr Hursthouse replied on the 4th inst: "Report was sent to Wellington on 22nd August, as instructed. It recommends immediate action and vote of £SOO, but bridge at present is safe for ordinary traffic." Acting on this the Mayor at once wired to Mr Lang, at Wellington : " Please see H.irsthouse's report Hamilton Bridge. Eudeavour pet recommendation given effect to and vote placed on supplementary estimates."
