Yesterday. (Before Capt. Jackson,

S.M.) Mary Dillok applied tor a maintenance order .against her son John, who, she stated, was earning 50s per week working at the Mamaku sawmills. An order for the payment of 3s per week was made. Enquiries are to he made where her son Daniel is, and then proceedings are to he taken against him. Reginald Bernard Fitzpatrick was charged with using insulting language to Mr Rout in Duke-street on 12th September. Several witnesses were examined, but all the accounts varied as to what was actually said. The Magistrate reserved judgment for three months, to see how the accused behaved in the

iHsample specimen of the new uniform that has been adopted by the corps was worn by Vol. W. Hume, and it excited general admiration. The uniform, which consists of kharkee cloth with scarlet cuff and collar, embroidered with white cord, is a long way in advance of the outfit at present worn by members of the Waikato Mo.inted Rifles.

The members of the Regiment desire to thank all those who so kindly assisted in bringing the affair to such a successful conclusion, and especially Mrs Whitaker, who lent her piano for the occasion.

Hill, crimson satin; F. Hill, cream ; Cox, pin it, with cream hue trimmings ; Allen, all white ; Mullions, grey ; Cussen, white muslin ; Iwersen, pink ; Willis, pale blue, trimmed with white ; 11.
