KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Kirikiriroa Road Board" was he'd at the Council Chambers, Hamilton East, yesterday. There were present : Messrs duo. Primrose (in the chair), b\ R. Seddon, and T. Paterson.
Fkeshfield Drain'.— The Clerk reported that Mr E. B. Cox considered per yard—the amount of Mr Hopa's tender—too high for the work at the Freshrield drain', and that another tender had been received from Mr P. W. Littlewood at 4{d. —This was accepted, subject to the approval of Mr Cox. Resignation'.—Mr W. Chitty, the chairman of the Board, wrote, tendering his resignation on the score of ill-health. —The Clerk was instructed to write in reply, sympathising with Mr Chitty in his mistortune, and requesting him to re-consider his determination. Clearing Road.—Mr C. Starr, senr., of Ngaruawahia, wrote re the surveyed road running past his place, and stating that it would be of great benefit t" himself and the neighbouring settlers if opened un.—Mr Paterson said this communication was the road running alongside the railway line. It had been opened some years ago, but was now overgrown, and in a very bad state. The road, if cleared, would greatly benefit a number of settlers who supplied milk to the creamery.—The Foreman was instructed to attend to the repairs. Gravel Pit. —On the suggestion of the Foreman of Works, it was decided to fence in the gravel pit near the Claudelaud's racecourse entrance, and to repair the roan leading to the grandstand. River Road.—Repairs to the NgaruaJ wahia River Road were authorised as recommended by the Foreman. Credit Balance.—The Clerk reported that the credit balance of the Board amounted to £BO Ss 6d, out of which the only account to be paid was the Foreman's wages, £ll.
