CABLE SUMMARY.
A lady doctor named Nancy Guilford has been remanded at a London Police Court for the manslaughter of a girl whom she dismembered at Bridgeport, United States. Russia is building a number of fist steamers for Eastern ports. It is intended that the vessels will be capable of making the passage from London to Shanghai in 20 days. It is reported that £37,000 will be required to rebuild the cottages destroyed in Barbadoes. The Lord Mayor's fund realised £21,000. The Messrs Laird are building a 10,000 ton steamer for the P. and O. Company. The cost of preparation for the visit of the Emperor of Germany to the Holy Land has emptied the Turkish Treasury.
